History
Release Ipswich came about in early 2003 with a mixed group of sufferers and carers who got together to find ways of caring for each other. Out of this support group, God’s vision came for widening this initiative to care for more people struggling with addictive behaviour issues. Several people in the group were also associated with Ipswich in Prayer. Enthusiasm grew after a visit from a representative from DrugsNet in Liverpool, who led an evening of prayer focusing on addictive issues. Even at this stage the long term vision was to have a place to try and assist people on their journey to restoration. Carried forward by this impetus, a small group of people felt a clear desire to formalise these efforts. The result was Release Ipswich, which became a Registered Charity in Nov 2006 and a charitable company in January 2010.
